6arelyhuman

Inspired by music popularized by early social media, 6arelyhuman bridges the gap between slick melodic emo of the 2000s and pulsing EDM from the early 2010s -- Sassy Scene, as he deemed it with the title of his 2023 debut album -- and further exemplified through EPs like Myspace Addiction (2023) and 2024’s “Level Up!,” one of several collaborations with rapper Odetari. Born Toby Hamilton in 2001 and raised in Dallas, 6arelyhuman first pursued music online under the names trippitoby and bichtoe in 2019, self-releasing songs that combined trap beats and hardcore-inspired melodicism. Two years later, he started over as 6arelyhuman, embracing elements of early-2000s scene culture with an online aesthetic. Early singles like 2022’s “Luv My Drugz” and “Scene City,” as well as that year’s Divinity EP, featured pulsating electronic beats under distinct vocal melodies that called to mind the burgeoning wave of hyperpop, but 6arelyhuman burnished his popularity beyond the Internet, performing at local underground raves. 6arelyhuman's popularity grew exponentially in 2023 with the track “Hands Up!,” a song that went viral on TikTok when fans began matching his voice to clips of South Park characters. The track kicked off his debut full-length Sassy Scene and crossed over to Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Later in 2023, 6arelyhuman began a fruitful collaboration with Houston rapper/producer Odetari, releasing the club track “GMFU.” Off the strength of that song, both artists signed to the Warner-distributed Artist Partner Group and issued a follow-up single, 2024’s “Level Up!”
