Tamara Anna Cislowska
Australian pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska took piano lessons from her mother, Neta Maughan, and later studied piano with Nancy Salas. Performing music by Bartók in public when she was two, Cislowska started recording for ABC Radio at age three. At six, she was enrolled in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and she performed with an orchestra at eight. She won the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards in 1991, and won prizes at other competitions in the U.K., Italy, and Greece. In 2003, she was awarded a Freedman Foundation Fellowship from the Music Council of Australia. Cislowska has toured internationally and performed as a soloist with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Romanian Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and other orchestras. As a chamber artist, Cislowska co-founded the Mozart Piano Quartet and the Australian String Quartet, and she has performed with Amelia Farrugia, Kenneth Tarver, Sharon Bezaly, Elena Kats-Chernin, the Acacia Quartet, and the Danish String Quartet, as well as recording with Australian multi-instrumentalist Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. Cislowska's recordings have been released by ABC Classics, Chandos, Naxos, Tall Poppies, Artworks, and MDG.
