Pink Playground
Pink Playground is a Houston, Texas-based duo that references ‘80s shoegaze and noise pop in their music. Like My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, and the Jesus and Mary Chain, revivalists Tara Tyson and James Wing make dreamy, washed-out melodies buried in sonic textures of guitar. Instead of playing shows live, the two opted to use videos to promote their music, matching their song “Come Find Me” to footage from the 1968 French film Le Révélateur. In 2011, after releasing the 7" singles Sunny Skies and Ten, Pink Playground released their debut album, Destination Ecstasy, on Mexican Summer.
