Per 'Texas' Johansson

Born in Södertälje, Sweden on March 18, 1969, musician Björn Per Anders Johansson is better known as Per ‘Texas’ Johansson. He is a skilled master of many woodwind instruments including saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, and contrabass clarinet. He first came to prominence in the early 1990s when he played in several different projects including the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra. His first release was the 1996 album The Stockholm Kaza Session, a collaboration with Swedish vocalist Rebecka Törnqvist. He released his self-titled solo album in 1997, followed by Alla Mina Kompisar (1998), Man Kan Lika Gärna Leva (1999), and the 2001 album Holon, which featured previously released tracks remixed by Jens Lodén. Per ‘Texas’ Johansson’s solo recording career took a backseat as he recorded and performed with a variety of artists including Atomic, Bo Kasper's Orchestra, Goran Kajfeš , Peter Asplund , Dicken Hedrenius, and Torbjörn Zetterberg. Per ‘Texas’ Johansson returned to his own solo career with the albums De Långa Rulltrapporna I Flemingsberg (2015) and Stråk På Himlen Och Stora Hus (2019).
