Pablo Gonzalez
Spanish conductor Pablo González studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Oviedo, Spain, and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. The winner of the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition in 2000, González also won the Cadaqués Orchestra International Conducting Competition in 2006. He has conducted the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, the Cadaqués Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, The Hallé, the Helsinki Philharmonic, the Residentie Orkest den Haag, the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, the Danish National Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Flemish Philharmonic, and the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, among many others. González became the principal conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya in 2008, and stepped down in 2015. He has recorded for Naxos, Haenssler, and SWR Music.
