Lil Boom

From the murky corners of Internet rap, Florida-bred rapper and producer Lil Boom crafts raunchy and humorous rhymes to goad and offend. After years offending listeners and dabbling with mixtapes and short releases, he released his official debut full-lengths, Hentai Haven and Soul Eater, in 2019. Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, Boom (born Jaylon Lilly in 1996) sticks to topics like Japanese animation, pornography, basketball, and pop culture, crafting often-foul and explicit tracks that he self-releases online. He debuted in 2016 with a series of singles like "Fuck Steph Curry," "Fuck Taylor Swift," and an unofficial sequel to Lil B's Kevin Durant diss track, "Fuck KD 2." Flexing his meme-muscle, he also issued "RIP Harambe" and "Caillou," an ode to children's television. Early mixtapes like Namek and State Road 438 were followed by Who Is Lil Boom, which included an extended version and sequel to his Steph Curry viral sensation. In 2017, he issued singles like "Milf Next Door" and "I Don't Sell Crack," and dropped the porn-obsessed "Kimono" in early 2018. More singles followed until Boom finally committed to a full-length, issuing Hentai Haven in 2019. He followed that same year with another LP, Soul Eater. He devoted his sophomoric rhymes to singles in 2020, touching upon Final Fantasy ("Kill Sephiroth") and teaming with MC Virgins ("Caught Simpin'").
