Kristiina Poska

Kristiina Poska, an award-winning conductor, began her career after studying choral conducting at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater, and orchestral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. She gained international recognition as a finalist in the Donatella Flick LSO Competition in 2010 and won the audience prize at the Malko Competition in 2012, followed by the prestigious German Conductors’ Prize in 2013. Poska has served as Principal Conductor of Cappella Academica (2006-2011), Kapellmeister at Komische Oper Berlin (2012-2016), and Music Director for Theater Basel for the 2019/20 season. Since 2019, she has been the Chief Conductor of the Flanders Symphony Orchestra, and since 2021 the Principal Guest Conductor of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.
