Juarez Moreira
Brazilian guitarist Juarez Moreira was born in Guanhães in 1954, moving to Belo Horizonte as a teenager to attend school and study music. He scored his first gig with pianist Wagner Tiso in 1978 and went on to become a respected composer and solo performer in his own right. Moreira's Brazilian-only albums include Nuvens Dourados, Aquarelas, and Samblues; he made his U.S./international debut in 1998 with Bom Dia, recorded for the Malandro label.
