Jacqui Abbott
Jacqui Abbott is an English indie pop and alternative rock singer who gained fame when she succeeded Briana Corrigan as vocalist with the band Beautiful South in 1994. The band had several hit releases but she left in 2000 to take care of her son. In 2014, she joined Beautiful South founder Paul Heaton for the album 'What Have We Become?', which went to number three on the UK Albums Chart. The track 'D.I.Y.' peaked at number 75 on the UK Singles Chart in 2014.
They released two more albums together - 'Wisdom Laughter and Lines' (2015) reached number four on the UK Albums Chart and 'Crooked Calypso' (2017) hit number two. Another recording with Paul Heaton, 'Manchester Calling', was released in 2020.
