Emilie Moutet

French singer/songwriter Emilie Moutet released her debut EP Pancakes in 2018 under
the former name of Willows.
She draws inspiration from the piano and guitar equally to serve her characteristic
melancholic and soft voice timbre, often compared to Joan Baez's. Her intimate and dark
songwriting contrasts with some deceptively happy songs, with influences coming from
songwriters like Sufjan Stevens, Patrick Watson, Ásgeir as well as Tori Amos, Regina
Spektor and Fredrika Stahl.
In 2021 she won a contest for French radio network FIP's 50th Anniversary and she was
also chosen by the SPEDIDAM to be part of "Generation SPEDIDAM" 2022-2024. In 2023
she played the 'Printemps de Bourges' music festival.
Her upcoming album 'Happy End of the World' was recorded and produced with drummer
and arranger Paul Magne (Cocoon, Tété) over a three-year span, taking time to build the
transformative synths and drums layers of a less acoustic evolution from the previous EP.
It will be released by the end of 2023 on the label Chose Fabuleuse
