Dylan Gossett

A native of Austin, Dylan Gossett mines the vein of plaintive, plain-spoken country that runs through central Texas. A kindred spirit to Zach Bryan, Gossett favors spare instrumentation and storytelling, qualities evident on his 2023 debut EP No Better Time, which featured his viral hit "Coal." Initially finding inspiration in Ed Sheeran and Mumford & Sons, Dylan Gossett gravitated to such Red Dirt country as Turnpike Troubadours as he grew older. As a student at Texas A&M, he honed his skills as a country singer and songwriter. In his early twenties, he started uploading music to the internet, eventually posting on social media in 2023. After "Coal" became a viral hit, he maintained an audience with a cover of the Lumineers' "Ophelia," then he released "To Be Free." Soon, he was headed out on the road, playing bills with Brent Cobb and Wyatt Flores, gathering enough songs to constitute an EP: No Better Time came out in October of 2023, complete with artwork depicting Gossett strumming an acoustic guitar in his bedroom, a nod to the music's place of creation. Within a month of No Better Time's release, Gossett signed with Big Loud Texas/Mercury Records.
