Celina Wolfe

After fronting the all-female rock group The Empty Yellers during her teenage years, Celina Wolfe launched a solo career with the debut single "Magnetic." A native of Montreal, Canada, she'd grown up in a rough pocket of the city, spending her childhood in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and cutting her teeth as a vocalist with gigs at the local Honey Martin bar. She formed The Empty Yellers at 17 years old, after failing to secure admission into music school, and spent several years performing alternative rock & roll with the band. Wolfe began writing songs with local guitarist Ken Presse in 2019, and the collaboration pushed her toward a more mainstream version of pop music. A production deal with Artifice Records followed in 2020. "Magnetic," her debut single was a solo artist, was released in 2022 and reappeared in 2023 as one of the six songs on her debut EP, Celina. The EP also featured her second single, "Birthday Candles," as well as the viral single "Coming Right Back," which Wolfe also released in a French version later than year. During the final stretch of 2023, she reached the Billboard charts for the first time with a holiday single, "Someday at Christmas." The track debuted at number 9 on Canada's Top 30 Adult Contemporary Songs in December 2023, climbing to number 5 the following week.
