Camila Fernández

Mexican singer Camila Fernández is a well-known performer whose style fuses pop and R&B influences with mariachi and other Mexican traditions. The third generation of a musical family dynasty, Fernández embarked on a solo career with 2022's Vulnerable and her self-titled 2023 sophomore album. Born on November 30, 1997, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Fernández grew up in San Diego, California, in a musical family, the daughter of singer Alejandro Fernández. Her grandfather is also the iconic ranchera singer Vicente Fernández. Interested in performing from a young age, she decided to pursue a singing career after appearing in a youth production of the musical Hairspray. She attended the Semper Altius Music School in Guadalajara, where she took vocal and instrumental lessons. After high school, she further trained at the La Jolla Piano Institute of California and spent time at Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was while still at Berklee that she began performing professionally, appearing alongside her father in Las Vegas and on TV. This led to a contract with Universal Music México, and in 2016 she and her father released an album of Disney songs. Around the same time, Fernández appeared on the Disney Channel Show Soy Luna and delivered her first solo EP, Mío. In 2022, she released her official debut album, Vulnerable. Her sophomore album, the eponymously titled Camila Fernández, arrived in 2023 and featured the single "Todo Todo." That same year, she also released the song "Debí Suponerlo" featuring Morat.
