Arcwelder
In 1988, bassist, guitarist, and vocalist Bill Graber formed the band Tilt-A-Whirl with drummer/vocalist Scott McDonald and bassist/guitarist Rob Graber. After being threatened with a lawsuit, they changed the name to Arcwelder in time for their second album, Jacket Made in Canada, released in 1991. The band, originally based in Minneapolis, combines Hüsker Dü-influenced garage rock with pop melodies. They moved to Chicago label Touch & Go in 1992, and issued the albums Pull, Xerxes (1994), Entropy (1996), and Everest (1999).
