Agajon

Hamburg-based producer AgaJon made a name for himself with his own take on hip-hop, bringing together a mix of neo-soul, jazz, and classic hip-hop for artists such as Jay Prince, Giggs, and Selah Sue before issuing his own debut album, 2022's Nag Champa. The German-Afghan producer was introduced to music at a young age, with his brother instilling a love of hip-hop in him. He went on to learn to play drums and become a beatboxer. AgaJon started to DJ before turning his hand to producing, with the aim to release his own music. He debuted in 2019 with the mini-album 7 Days, collaborating with the likes of Ninja Kidsoul, Leroy Menace, and Serious Klein. A handful of singles followed before AgaJon's productions -- which expertly spliced together a mix of urban jazz, neo-soul, and classic hip-hop -- started to catch the ear of other artists and saw him working with Jay Prince, Giggs, and Naomi Scott. By 2022, AgaJon had started to ready his debut album, Nag Champa, issuing the singles "Romeo & Juliet," "Higher," and "Trust Yourself" before the release of the LP later that year.
