AA (Double A)

Double-A, stylized as AA, is a South Korean boy band formed by Wellmade Yedang. The group's inception began with the singer and composer Aoora, with performer and choreographer, Woosang joining shortly after. The group expanded further with the addition of Juwon and Hoik, who had relocated from Busan to Seoul to pursue their dreams of becoming singers, and Kimchi, who had abandoned his piano and clarinet studies in favour of a singing career. Their debut song, "So Crazy," along with its music video, was released in November 2011, receiving critical acclaim and characterised as "sexy and charismatic," and on March 7, 2013, AA pre-released a track from their upcoming mini album, titled "Rollin Rollin," however the song was banned and deemed unsuitable for broadcast by KBS and SBS. AA eventually released the mini-album, Come Back, on March 27, marking the end of their year-and-a-half hiatus. All six tracks included in the album, including "Rollin' Rollin'" and "Midnight Taxi," were composed, arranged and produced by Aoora, and the record reached number 12 on the Korean charts. On June 17, 2013, AA's management disclosed that Joowon had chosen to depart from the group to pursue his aspirations as an actor. Following further changes in the lineup, Aoora and Hoik released a cover of Omi's "Cheerleader" in 2015 however, in May 2016, the group disbanded completely, upon the expiration of Aoora's contract with their agency.
