Trea Landon
A country singer and songwriter whose sound combines the traditional bent of artists like George Strait with arrangements that lend the songs a rock and pop polish, Trea Landon hadn't yet turned 25 when he scored a major-label success with the song "Loved by a Country Boy." Reflecting his youth, Landon's initial releases were upbeat numbers that celebrated small-town life and his appreciation of the opposite sex in a friendly, relatable manner.
Trea Landon was raised in a rural community in Claxton, Georgia, where his parents were big fans of George Strait, Hank Williams, Jr., and Randy Travis. As a teenager, Landon developed a taste for heavy metal and hard rock, citing Metallica and Linkin Park as personal favorites, and he learned to play the drums. When he was 16, Landon tried his hand at guitar, and after his grandfather taught him some chords, he switched his allegiances to country music and began writing songs and singing them. Landon formed a band and started booking gigs at local honky tonks; before long, his local popularity spread and he was playing country venues across the American Southeast. After graduating from high school, Landon enrolled at Georgia Southern University, but he found the time to balance his studies and his growing musical career, and in 2015 the 21-year-old singer and songwriter moved to Nashville in hopes of taking his music to the next level. As it happened, a music attorney who was familiar with Landon's music tipped off songwriter Dallas Davidson, and just a few weeks after Landon arrived in Music City, Davidson signed him to a publishing deal with Play It Again Music. Months later, Landon was co-writing with the likes of Rob Hatch and Chris Young, and he continued to hone his skills as a performer, opening shows for Craig Campbell, Clare Dunn, Jon Langston, Luke Combs, and many more.
In 2017, Landon made his debut as a recording artist with a self-titled six-song independent EP that included the songs "When I Get There" and "A Little Bit," which attracted attention on streaming services. By 2019, his star had risen to the point that he landed a recording contract with Warner Music, and in May of that year, he issued his first single for his new label, "Loved by a Country Boy," which was streamed over 2.4 million times. June 2019 brought his second single for Warner, "Get the Girl."
