Mister Chivo
Mister Chivo is a Mexican cumbia, pop, and romantic ballads band formed in Tamaulipas in 1974 by a group of high school friends. The young outfit made such a splash at a local school festival that it was asked to record its first single. Several years passed, however, before the band managed to consolidate its characteristically festive and humorous musical identity. Eventually, the hits started piling up after 1980's "Playa Azul." One of the main bands associated with the grupero style, throughout its lengthy career, Mister Chivo released numerous albums for Korin, DVL, Sony, Disa, MCM, and Asi Music.
