Llorenc Barber
Modern composer Llorenç Barber is best known as the author of large-scale pieces played on all of the church bells within a town. Throughout the '90s he was commissioned by a number of European cities and music festivals to create these unique pieces. The Catalan composer has also collaborated on works with Javier Maderuelo, choreographer Antonio Aparisi (for "Gargoyles," based on Valencia's Lonja building), and singer/performance artist Fatima Miranda, with whom Barber co-founded the group Taller de Música Mundana. Barber was also a founding member of l'Ensemble Actum in the early '70s. Several CDs of his work, including Linguopharincampanology, have been released in Europe.
