Kazell

A DJ whose sets skillfully blend house, trance, and breaks, U.K. native Kazell (born Kevin Bazell) moved to Atlanta in 1991. Kazell first gained respect as resident at the city's popular Liquid Groove club before moving to Los Angeles in 1999. Successful sets at the legendary Spundae led to being handpicked by Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, and John Digweed for support slots and earned him the title of "hottest thing in warm-up" from the Los Angeles Times. A guest spot on John Digweed's Kiss FM show brought him recognition in his native land, while at home he earned a spot in the Top Five DJs from the L.A. Weekly's 2002 Music Awards. Vanguard Records took notice and hired Kazell and production partner Mike Hiratzka to remix Sinéad O' Connor's "My Lagan Love" in 2002. Kazell released his first mixed compilation CD, Driven, on the Velocity Records imprint Black Label in 2003.
