Jupiter da Vibe

Ibrahima Bah was born on August 14, 1989 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin, into a family of Guinean origin. During his childhood, he was immersed in music shows in his neighborhood, which enabled him to attend performances by big names such as Angélique Kidjo, Alpha Blondy and MC Solaar. He began playing music at the age of 16, in 2005, and released his first single after his baccalauréat under the name Jupiter Davibe in 2009: "Jamais loin", featuring Nasty Nesta. The latter won him the prize for best R'n'B single of the year at the R&R Awards, and he went on to create his own structure, Davibe Music, which enabled him to gain greater independence. After studying marketing, Davibe returned to the forefront of the music scene with the song "Fallait que je te dise" (2013), which again won Best R'n'B Groove Single and Best Video at the Benin Urban Music Awards the following year. Spotted with a few early hits, the Guinean singer is beginning to make his mark in a music industry in which he wants to be a force to be reckoned with. Inspired as much by Akon and Papa Wemba as Corneille, Jupiter Davibe unveils his first album in 2020 in front of 50,000 people at the Palais du peuple in Conakry. Faabelan Chapitre I (2020) introduced the artist to the sounds of Afropop, rap and electronic music, and established him on the scene with an accomplished project. Established in his country's cultural landscape, and eagerly awaited by his public, Jupiter Davibe returns in 2023 with a new track, "Léti", heralding his second album, on which he pays tribute to his traditional origins by singing in the Peul language.
