Eve Ai
Born on March 24, 1987, in Taipei, Taiwan, Eve Ai Yi-liang became a nationally-recognized vocalist in 2010, after winning the fifth season of the Taiwanese television show Super Idol. Eve Ai's renditions of soul classics, pop hits, and blues songs helped showcase the versatility of her voice, and she highlighted that artistic range once again with her debut album, If You Love Me. Released in November 2012 and featuring a mix of Mandopop, vocal jazz, and soul, If You Love Me peaked at Number 2 on the Guangnan chart in Taiwan. Grown Love followed in October 2014, featuring a mature, melodic sound as well as more songwriting contributions from Eve Ai. One of her original compositions, "Sophisticated Games," was honored by the Chinese Music Association as one of the "Top 10 Songs of 2014," which Grown Love receiving a similar honor as one of the "Top 10 Albums of 2014." Eve Ai received even greater attention for her third release, Talk About Eve, which arrived in May 2016. A diverse Mandopop album that made room for electronics, rock textures, and even reggae influences, Talk About Eve received seven nominations from the 28th Golden Melody Awards, including "Album of the Year," "Song of the Year," and "Best Composer." Eve Ai won the Golden Melody Award for "Best Mandarin Female Vocalist," while her song "The Sum of Us" received a "Top 10 Songs of 2017" award from the Chinese Music Association. Now one of the most commercially-successful and critically-lauded vocalists in Mandarin music, she maintained her place on the charts with 2018's Fade to Exist and 2021's How Come I Still Remember All.
