VEIN Trio
Formed in 2006 in Switzerland, the Vein Trio – also referred to as Vein – is a piano-led trio comprised of Michael Arben (piano), his twin brother Florian Arbenz (drums) and Thomas Lähns (bass). Their sound blends jazz and classical together, attracting fans and music critics of both genres. The interplay between the musicians has helped to create a refreshing and unique sound. Each of the trio’s members were already established in the local jazz scene when the trio came together. They released their critically acclaimed debut album, Vein, in 2006. For the next 15 years, they have released an impressive catalog of 13 albums including Outstage (2008), Vein Plays Porgy & Bess (2011), Vote for Vein (2013), and Vein Plays Ravel (2017). They’ve also collaborated with many artists including thrombonist Glen Ferris, saxophonists Greg Osby, and many others.
