Rapper Krishna Kaul – born in New Delhi, India on October 4, 1987 – is better known by his stage name KR$NA. He previously recorded or performed under several different names including Krsna, YoungProzpekt, and Prozpekt. One of the earliest pioneers of the Indian hip hop scene, KR$NA grew up in New Delhi although he did spend several years attending school in South London. As Prozpekt, he began releasing his music on social media in 2006 and built up a local following over the next few years. In 2010, he released the video for his song “Kaisa Mera Desh,” which was the first Indian hip-hop song to appear on several social media platforms and became one of the most watched videos in India. Signing with Universal Music in 2013, he changed his stage name to KR$NA and released a series of singles including “Bang Bang,” “Keep it Real,” and “I’m Back” featuring FuzzCulture. KR$NA’s debut album, Sellout, was released in 2014. He spent the next several years releasing singles and collaborating with other artists including Su Real, Rabbit Sack, MojoJojo, Kidshot, Raftaar, Kidshot, and many others. In 2021, KR$NA released his sophomore album, Still Here, to great acclaim. Remaining a prolific artist, KR$NA has continued to release a series of collaborations and solo singles since Still Here including “Overdrive” with Hi-Rez, “Blowing Up,” “Lil Bunty,” “Batman” with Aghor, and “Macheyenge 4.”
