Corpse

Dredged up from the depths of rap's horrorcore canon, Corpse – aka the anonymous, avatar-wielding US rapper, gamer and videographer born on August 8, 1997, in San Diego, California – assembles his dark trap transmissions from deep vocals and jagged beats that tip their hat to both club music and hip-hop. Corpse started out on his video channel, initially narrating horror stories in 2015, before making his musical debut in parallel to his narration work in 2016. His first musical outing was as a guest on the "Grim Grinning Ghost" single by The Living Tombstone and Crusher P, with his own solo debut arriving four years later – "Miss You!," which reached Number 31 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The dirge-like trap of "White Tee" came the following month, making it to Number 32 on the aforementioned chart, while that same September, Corpse upped his subscriber count by streaming and creating content on the video game Among Us. The "E-Girls Are Ruining My Life!" single landed in September 2020, with vocals from rapper Savage Ga$p, and made a dent in the UK chart, reaching Number 90. In October 2020, Corpse joined a get-out-the-vote initiative with various other streamers and U.S. representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar who teamed up for a game of Among Us. The following March, Corpse made his first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as a guest feature on Machine Gun Kelly's song "DayWalker." In September 2021, Corpse released the bouncy club-tinted single "Hot Demon Bitches Near U!!!" in collaboration with Night Lovell. Corpse has previously explained that his deep voice is partly due to his health struggles with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
