deutsche harmonia mundi
Deutsche Harmonia Mundi was founded by Rudolf Ruby in Germany in 1958. Along with the French label ERATO, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi is one of the pioneers in Baroque music, and from its beginning has closely worked with the Collegium Aureum, directed by the first violinist Franzjosef Maier. His orchestra was one of the first to use original early instruments, and managed, slowly but surely, to radically change the way we listen to Baroque music. Ruby made distribution agreements with Harmonia Mundi France, in order to distribute its products in France. The DHM catalogue is incredibly rich, including essential artists from the Northern European Baroque movement, such as Gustav Leonhardt, Sigiswald Kuijken, Christoph Prégardien, Andreas Staier, Paul van Nevel, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Skip Sempé and the celebrated Freiburger Barockorchestrer, to name just a few.
