Wayland

A high-energy, no-frills hard rock unit, Wayland (they hail from the small rural Michigan town of the same name) issued their eponymous debut album in 2010. The band's explosive live shows and down-to-earth demeanor won them a strong regional following and before long they were sharing stages with Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry, Sammy Hagar, Hinder, and Alice Cooper. Wayland found mainstream success with 2017's Rinse & Repeat and worked with Buckcherry producer Keith Nelson on their 2021 EP On the Way. Formed in 2010 by core members Mitch Arnold (vocals) and guitarist Phillip Vilenski (guitar), Wayland draws inspiration from classic and modern rock acts like Led Zeppelin, Shinedown, Black Crowes, and Guns N' Roses. The band, which also features Joey Clement and Hoss Wright, issued its eponymous debut LP in 2010, followed shortly by a four-song EP, Welcome to My Head. As Wayland's popularity began to grow regionally, they found themselves averaging around 250 shows a year, sharing the stage with the likes of Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry, and Alice Cooper. In 2015, they issued the stand-alone single "Bloody Sunrise," then spent the next year honing material for their follow-up. The resulting Rinse & Repeat, released in 2017, yielded the band's first Billboard Top 40 Mainstream Rock hit with the single "Through the Fire." Off the Record, a compilation of previously unreleased singles, also appeared that year. In 2021, now based in Los Angeles, Wayland inked a deal with Fearlyss Entertainment and released the EP On the Way.
