Urban Myth
Brighton, England's Urban Myth is a four-piece electro-acoustic improvisational unit whose members come from different backgrounds and two different continents. Jim Black and Kirsten Elliott hail from Canada, while Adam Bushell and Henry Collins are from the U.K. All members are multi-instrumentalists and have played with a wide variety of musicians from Wayne Horvitz to Peggy Lee. The slight jungle/drum'n'bass touches in the band's music come from Bushell's experience in a prior band, K-Scope, which released records on LTJ Bukem's Good Looking imprint. In 2004 the adventurous unit released Live at the Friends Meeting House, recorded live at Collins' club, the Quiet House, with avant-garde jazz musician Steve Beresford guesting on piano and electronics.
