Twin Danger

Brooklyn's Twin Danger make their own distinctive mix of smoky, atmospheric jazz and pop. Formed in 2013, Twin Danger were born from the collaborative spark between longtime Sade guitarist/saxophonist Stuart Matthewman and vocalist/guitarist Vanessa Bley. The daughter of visual artist Carol Goss and jazz pianist Paul Bley, Vanessa grew up studying classical piano in upstate New York. Self-taught on guitar and bass, Bley's interests gradually shifted away from classical and toward jazz improvisation and singing. Later, while studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in N.Y.C., she began performing her songs at various local venues. It was during this period that she collaborated with Estonian pop artist Kerli, who in turn introduced Bley to Matthewman. Discovering that they shared an eclectic taste in jazz and rock, Matthewman and Bley began performing and writing together. In 2015, Twin Danger released their debut self-titled album on Universal.
