Touch Of Class

A Touch of Class (known as ATC until a lawsuit filed by the producer ATB forced them to change their name) were a German dance-pop act known for their hit single "Around the World (La La La La La)". Joseph 'Joey' Murray, Sarah Egglestone, Tracey Elizabeth Packham and Livio Salvi met in Hamburg in the late 1990s while performing in the international Broadway theatre German production of the musical Cats. The four became friends and formed a dance group, meeting producers Alex Christensen and Thomas M. Stein in 1999 and beginning to produce material as ATC, aka A Touch of Class. Their first single was "Around the World (La La La La La)", an English-language cover of the song "Pesenka" by Russian act Ruki Vverh!. It was a number one hit in Germany, amassing huge amounts of airplay and occupying the top spot for six weeks. Their debut album was Planet Pop (2000), released through Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Republic Records. The record won the group an ECHO Award for Best Dance Act. Following that they released several singles to varying degrees of success but never recaptured the energy of "Around the World (La La La La La)". The group split in 2003.
