Tiê

Born as "Tiê Gasparinetti Biral" to an artistic family that included her legendary grandmother — Brazilian television actress Vida Alves — Tiê is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist. During the early stages of her career, she was mentored by bossa nova musician Toquinho, who took the burgeoning musician on tour for two years. Following the tour's completion, she collaborated with Dudu Tsuda on her debut recording, E.P. 1, which was released in 2007. Her first full-length album, Sweet Jardim, followed in 2009 and earned a nomination at the MTV Video Music Brasil Awards. A Coruja e o Coração was released in 2011 and featured appearances from Uruguayan actor/musician Jorge Drexler, Latin Grammy Award-winning solo artist Tulipa Ruiz, and singer/songwriter Marcelo Jeneci. One year later, her song "A Noite" — her cover of "La Notte," Arisa's chart-topping Italian hit from 2012 — was chosen as the theme song of the telenovela I Love Paraisópolis. Continuing to blend influences like indie pop, folk, and música popular brasileira, she earned her first pair of Top 40 singles with 2017's Gaya, which featured the Number 37 hit "Mexeu Comigo" and the Number 32 hit "Amuleto." The live album Dix appeared in 2019, followed by an EP, Kudra, in 2020.
