Threshold
Linda Taylor, former guitarist for the comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, generally stuck to writing instrumentals, but she also found herself writing songs with a vocalist in mind and decided to act upon that. Initially the music was meant just as a side project, one that would perhaps produce some demos and pieces for other artists, but after Taylor collected the members of the band that would record her work, they all realized that they should release a complete album together. With Angela Carole Brown on vocals, Taylor on guitar, Ed Roth on keyboards, Del Atkins on bass, Mikal Majeed on organ, Laval Belle on drums, and Catte Adams and Janelle Sadler on background vocals, Threshold released their debut, Sum Blues, which was inspired by R&B acts like Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Mavis Staples, and Stevie Wonder, on Taylor's Rubicon Music in 2006.
