The Underwater

Forming in Atlanta, GA, in the late '90s by the initiative of Jeremy Wilkins (guitar, keyboards) and Melissa Mileski (vocals), Underwater introduced contrasting dimensions to the alternative and s styles. Relying on a strong electronic component within their themes, in all similar to the one of bands like Curve or Bowery Electric, Underwater soon managed to get considerable attention within the local music scene due to their fantastic compositions. Following the additions of drummer Alec Irvin and of programmer Matthew Jeanes, the group settled on entering the studio to record their first disc. I Could Lose, the band's debut album, appeared on the Risk Records label in 1999, with production credits of Chris Vrenna, formerly connected with Nine Inch Nails. After the release of the record, Underwater and Risk decided to part ways. Still, not long after, the band decided to independently release yet another record, the single "Red."
