The Takers
The Takers, from Boston, play a rough brand of punk music that incorporates more hooks from garage rock than most such bands do, paced by the abrasive half-screamed vocals of Mike Carreiro. Their debut EP, Never Get Out of These Blues Alive, came out in 2001. A year later, the rollicking sound of If the Blues Were Red was released on Rubric.
