Talk In Tongues
Enveloping their psych-rock in dream pop, Los Angeles quartet Talk in Tongues were formed by area musicians orphaned from other bands: singer/guitarists McCoy Kirgo and Garrett Zeile, bassist Waylon Rector, and drummer Bryan DeLeon, the latter two formerly of Kitten. Together, they quickly settled into a sound influenced by '60s psychedelia and '90s shoegaze, and released their first single, "Still Don't Seem to Care," in 2014 shortly after their first band practice. Mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Arctic Monkeys, Johnny Marr), the single led to a record deal with Fairfax Recordings, and the band finished recording its debut album by the end of that summer. Produced by Kevin Augunas (Needtobreathe, Valerie June), Alone with a Friend was released in the spring of 2015.
