Salatiel
Salatiel Livenja Bessong, who operates under the mononym Salatiel, is an award-winning Cameroonian producer, singer, and rapper who emerged in 2014 with a sound and style steeped in Afro-pop, hip-hop, dancehall, and soul.
Born in the city of Tiko, Bessong, the son of a pastor, developed his love for music singing in church. At the age of 17, the pianist, singer, and songwriter began working at M1 Studios in Buea. Since then he has amassed a slew of hits with Cameroonian artists like Mr. Leo, Daphne, Askia, and Blaise B, and in 2019 he was featured on the Beyoncé-curated soundtrack for The Lion King: The Gift. In addition to his work as a performer and creator, Bessong is the founder and CEO of Alpha Better Records.
