Roar
Roar (stylized as ROAR) is the brainchild of Arizona-based musician Owen Richard Evans, formerly of the band Asleep in the Sea. After the band disbanded in 2007, Evans embarked on his solo journey in 2010, launching Roar with the EP I Can't Handle Change as a response to the breakup. Since then, Roar has evolved, with Evans releasing two more EPs and three studio albums. Notably, Roar's third studio album, Diamond Destroyer of Death, dropped in March 2021, marking a significant milestone in the project's trajectory. Alongside his solo endeavors, Evans briefly drummed for Andrew Jackson Jihad (now AJJ) in 2016 before focusing on Roar full-time. In 2019 and 2023, Roar experienced viral success on TikTok with tracks like "I Can't Handle Change" and "Christmas Kids," the latter earning Roar its first international chart appearances.
