Rawayana

Formed in Caracas in 2007, Rawayana went on to achieve international recognition with its infectious fusion of rock, reggae, ska, funk, and Caribbean rhythms. With a lineup consisting of Alberto Montenegro (guitar and lead vocals), Antonio Casas (bass), Andrés Story (drummer), and Alejandro Abeijón (guitar), Rawayana became instantly popular in its native Venezuela with the debut album Licencia Para Ser Libre (2011). The follow-up Rawayanaland (2013) aimed at gaining the band international exposure by featuring guests such as Natalia Lafourcade and DJ Afro (Los Amigos Invisibles), a process solidified with the Latin Grammy-nominated Trippy Caribbean (2016). Having become a festival mainstay, Rawayana has managed to tour regularly across Latin America, the U.S., and even Europe. The band's latest releases, Cuando Los Acéfalos Predominan (2021) and ¿Quién Trae Las Cornetas? (2023), included collaborations with artists such as Akapellah, Fer Casillas, Marc Seguí, Rafa Pabón, Danny Ocean, Monsieur Periné, and many more.
