Petbrick

The unrelenting mix of pummeling drums and acerbic noise from Petbrick first made its way into the public's consciousness with the release of their eponymous 2018 EP and their fully-formed debut album, 2019's, I. Founded at the beginning of 2018 by Sepultura founder Igor Cavalera and Big Lad's Wayne Adams, the duo had a chance meeting after Cavalera saw Adams' band performing. Striking up a friendship, Adams invited Cavalera to his London studios to collaborate on what would become Petbrick. Bringing together Cavalera's intense drumming and Adams' noise and breakcore background, the duo recorded a handful of tracks, eventually issuing them on their self-released eponymous 2018 debut EP. Buoyed by the success of the EP, more tracks followed with demos ending up in the laps of Rocket Recordings' Chris Reeder and John O'Carroll, who signed the band on the spot. The duo put the finishing touches on the recordings which eventually became their debut album. After a handful of live shows supporting the likes of Uniform, Teeth of the Sea, and the Body, I was issued in October 2019 and saw them collaborating with the likes of Dylan Walker, Mutado Pintado, and Cavalera's wife and Soulwax collaborator Laima Leyton. Rounding out the year, Petbrick embarked on their first headline tour, with dates across the U.K. and Europe.
