Perdidos De Sinaloa
Perdidos de Sinaloa are a prolific, charting quartet led by vocalist Dariel Ramírez, and famous across Mexico and Southern California for their banda romanticas. Ramírez hails from Mezquite Alto in Sinaloa. After trying without success to create a band to play music after his own vision, he relocated to Tijuana after hearing of its numerous musical opportunities. His first band was a trio called Los Alegres. Working in a seafood restaurant, he convinced the owner to allow the band to serenade customers for tips. Ever the entrepreneur, he quit the restaurant with the idea that the band could work in many different restaurants in the area, playing for paying patrons at 50 pesos a song. The guitarist and singer didn't remain content for long. He dumped his group, went back to Sinaloa and recruited other members. Returning to Tijuana, he renamed the band Perdidos de Sinaloa. The name came from a humorous situation where his bandmates -- also Sinaloans -- were not able to find him in Tijuana and had to climb a tower to spot him in a street. The four-piece group began working street parties, restaurants, and cantinas. Their debut studio album, Soy Lo Que Soy, was issued in December of 2015, followed two months later by the live En Vivo Desde Las Pulgas de Tijuana. In April, they delivered the studio date El Luchon, and the live En Vivo Desde Los Mochis a week later.
Perdidos de Sinaloa hit the road hard over the next few months, playing all over the region and as far south as Mexico City. In November, they re-entered the studio and issued two more studio albums: Te Vas and Un Desengano on RB Music. Each record scored higher on the digital charts than its predecessor and the group began to make television and radio appearances as well as open for big name acts on festival stages. Perdidos de Sinaloa won the Premios De La Calle for best New Artist of the Year. Working the road harder than ever, they played all over California, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico before hitting the studio again in May of 2017 to emerge with No La Hagas Sufrir a month later.
