NEMOPHILA

Nemophila is a plant genus comprising 11 different species, including the pretty forget-me-not, and it's also the name of a Japanese heavy metal band. The five-member all-women unit began life as a session band in 2019 with Mayu on vocals, Saki and Hazuki on guitars Haraguchi-san on bass, and Tamu Murata on drums, and made their live debut in 2019 at the Metal Weekend 2019 held at Zepp Diver City in Tokyo. After making a name for themselves as a ferocious live act, they dropped their debut single "Oiran" in February 2020. A handful of independently released singles emerged between 2020 and 2021, including "Raitei" and "Dissension," while they continued to build up an online presence through live streams and YouTube content. In June 2021, UK record label JPU collated the group's singles into the Oiran: Extended Edition international release, with their debut studio album, Revive, arriving later that year. June 2022 saw the release of the Revive U.S. Version, which offers English-language versions of their album tracks.
