Myron Elkins

The Americana singer/songwriter Myron Elkins was born and raised in rural Otsego, Michigan, where he originally worked as a welder following his graduation from Martin High School. Encouraged by relatives to pursue a music career, he pieced together a band called The Dying Breed, featuring electric guitarist Caleb Stampfler, drummer Ricky LaDuke, bassist McKinnon Elkins, and rhythm guitarist Avry Whitaker. Inspired by country acts like Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings, the group began playing local shows and and released a debut EP, Just Another Asshole With a Guitar, in 2020. Elkins' audience soon stretched as far south as Nashville, Tennessee, where the Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb signed the band to his label, Low Country Sound. Joined by his band, Elkins traveled to Nashville to work with Cobb on his full-length debut album, Factories, Farms & Amphetamines. The record was released in 2023, when Elkins was just 22 years old, and showcased a rootsy sound that Elkins had sharpened while touring the country as an opening act for headliners like Marcus King, Lucero, Blackberry Smoke, and Kaleo. Although Factories, Farms & Amphetamines failed to reach the charts, it did produce a successful single, "Hands To Myself," which debuted at Number 37 on the Adult Alternative Songs chart in February 2023.
