MV & EE
Formed in 2000 around artist/musicians Matt Valentine and Erika Elder, Vermont-based neo-psychedelic lo-fi experimental rock collective MV & EE feature a rotating cast of members who assemble behind each new project and pseudonym (MV & EE Medicine Show, the Bummer Road) to help complete the pair's self-described "lunar ragas." Often compared to similar outfits like Black Mountain and the Sunburned Hand of the Man, the group has recorded and released dozens of recordings. Beginning with 2001's Tonight! One Night Only! MV & EE In Heaven, the duo put out a plethora of releases on their own Child of Microtones label. Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace label released several more widely available albums for the prolific duo including 2006's Green Blues, 2007's Gettin' Gone, and 2009's Barn Nova. In 2011 Matt Valentine released What I Became, a solo album with Brooklyn freak folk label Woodsist. MV & EE continued to work with the label for their 2012 full length Space Homestead.
