Muriel Anderson

Muriel Anderson has won acclaim from both fans and her peers for her imagination and virtuosity playing classical guitar. Born into a musical family, which included a mother that taught piano and a grandfather who played in John Philip Sousa's band, Anderson fell in love with the guitar while growing up in Downers Grove, Illinois. She went on to study classical guitar at DePaul University in Chicago and, following graduation, went on to study under Christopher Parkening and Chet Atkins. Anderson released her first album, Music For Life, in 1989, earning enthusiastic reviews and a reputation as one of the finest instrumentalist around. She continued to compose and record regularly, issuing several more records, including Arioso From Paris, A Little Christmas Gift, and Theme For Two Friends. Her Heartstrings accompanied astronauts on one of the space shuttle flights. In addition to her recording and performance schedule, Anderson has released several instructional videos and books.
