She has also toured internationally with Niall Horan, Maroon 5, Keith Urban, and Pink. Julia Michaels began singing and writing songs as a teenager and contributed songs to television shows including the title song “Can't Do It Without You” with Mike McGarity and Joleen Belle on the series Austin & Ally. Her 2017 single “Issues” went to Number 4 on Billboard's Mainstream Top 40, Number 10 on the UK Singles Chart, and Number 11 on the Hot 100. The release was nominated for a 2017 Grammy Award for Song of the Year and she was also nominated as Best New Artist. The song appears on her seven-track 2017 EP Nervous System, which peaked at Number 48 on the Billboard 200. Her follow-up single “Worst in Me” (2017) reached Number 29 on the Adult Top 40. Subsequent tracks “Heaven” and “Are You” were included in the soundtrack of the 2018 feature film Fifty Shades Freed. Her 2019 EP Inner Monologue, Pt. 1 went to Number 17 on the Digital Albums Chart and was followed by the sequel Inner Monologue, Pt. 2, released in June of that year. Preceded by the singles “Lie Like This” and “All Your Exes,” her highly anticipated studio debut Not in Chronological Order saw the light in 2021 and entered the Billboard 200 at Number 183, also charting in Australia and Canada.
