Marc Sadane
Vocalist Marc Sadane went from his hometown of Savannah, GA to New York City to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. But he soon found music more to his liking, and became lead singer for Tungsten Steele. He departed for a solo career in 1977 and became the vocalist for the house band at Mikell's. Sadane toured with Stephanie Mills and received so much acclaim and such a great response that he signed a solo deal with Warner Bros. in the early '80s. But while he proved a capable, sometimes captivating singer in the urban contemporary mode, he was unable to generate any commercial success with either his singles or albums. Not even the production and writing skills of the Mtume/Lucas team could garner Sadane any hits. He dropped out of the music business from 1982 to 1988, then recorded the single "Why Can't You Believe in Me" which was produced by Darryl Payne and included on Payne's LP Past Present & Future.
