Los Claxons
Los Claxons are a pop/rock band from Monterrey, Mexico, formed around 2004 by Mauricio Sánchez (vocals, guitar), Nacho Llantada (vocals, guitar), and Edgar "Cholo" Lozano (electric guitar). Pablo González Sarre (bass) joined late in 2005, while Cesáreo Castillo became the band's permanent drummer sometime in 2009. A pop combo of eclectic influences, from classic and indie rock to Latin American singer/songwriters, Los Claxons released their debut album, Sin Ganga, in 2005 for the independent Movic Records label. A growing word-of-mouth reputation, aided by good visibility on the social networks, allowed the band to perform all over Mexico, and Los Claxons ended the year opening for superstar Diego Torres at the Monterrey Arena.
Los Claxons' exposure expanded when Warner Music agreed to redistribute their debut album in 2006. A second album, En Primera, appeared in 2007, featuring Alberto Ramos on drums. The band's popularity kept growing steadily, and by November 2008 Los Claxons were opening venues for Maroon 5's Mexican tour. Their third album -- simply titled Los Claxons and co-produced by Baltazar Hinojosa and engineered by Grammy winner Javier Garza -- reached the top of the digital Mexican charts upon its release in May 2010.
By 2011, Los Claxons had established themselves as one of Mexico's biggest acts, with their fourth album, Camino a Encontrarte, nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Rock/Pop Album. Hooking up with renowned producer Thom Russo (Jay-Z, Michael Jackson), the group recorded its follow-up, 2013's Un Día de Sol. At the beginning of 2015, Los Claxons released a collection of live bootlegs recorded at some of their biggest shows and announced that they had returned to the studio to record their sixth album. Centro, Sur y al Otro Lado was released in October of that year, preceded by the lead single "Hasta Que Vuelvas a Verme."
