All five members of the J-pop group lol, consisting of Naoto, Hibiki, Honoka, Yusuke, and Moca, received training at the Avex Artist Academy in Tokyo, Japan, and upon formation, contributed to the anime film Tribe Cool Crew in 2014 with the theme song “Heartbeat.” Their debut single, “Fire!,” was released in 2015 and later included in their debut album lolol, which hit the shelves in 2017, and included singles, “Ladi Dadi,” “Spank!!,” and “Bye Bye.” The group continued to release double singles, such as “Aitai Kimochi/nanana” in 2017, “Ice Cream/Waswenai” in 2018, and “Sayonara No Kisetsu/Lolli-lolli” in 2019. These tracks were part of the band's second album lml, which also featured the single “Love and Smile” and hit single, “Power of the Dream,” featured in the Japanese Anime Fairy Tail. In 2019, lol collaborated with DJ Koo on the single “Brave Up!” and in March 2020 they returned with new album Lightning which went to number 16 on the charts, spawning six songs including “look up” and “new life.” After releasing a string of non-album singles throughout 2020 and 2021, the group returned with AMBER in October 2022, which went to number 38, and Life Is in January 2024, preceded by singles “RAISE ME UP” and “Chiguhug LOVE.”
