Kiyoshi Ryujin
Ryujin Kiyoshi (born on May 27, 1989 in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka, Japan) is a Japanese singer and songwriter. Writing his own music by the age of fifteen, he began producing demo recordings in 2005, winning the Teens Rock school music competition, and appearing at the Rock in Japan Festival in 2006. Independently releasing his first single “Send”, which was featured in the film Cyborg She, he made his studio debut with the song “Morning Sun” through EMI Music Japan, the lead single from 2009 album Philosophy which charted in the Oricon Chart Top 40. Kiyoshi’s follow-up album World (2010) featuring singles “Help Me Help Me Help Me” and “Itai yo” preceded his first major Japanese tour and the following year, he penned the song “Immortalist” for the animated series Dragon Crisis! performed by actress Yui Horie, reaching number 10 on the Oricon singles chart. Kiyoshi followed this with two further albums People and Music, released in 2011 and 2012 respectively, which attained moderate chart success. The self-titled acoustic narrative album Ryujin Kiyoshi, released independently, became a rarity after it was sold only at live shows, however two years later Kiyoshi returned with his next major album Work with single “All My Life” appearing in the New Life commercial for J:COM Smart TV. After a nine-year hiatus, Kiyoshi released his fifth studio album Female on November 30, 2022.
