Kiyoe Yoshioka
Kiyoe Yoshioka (February 29, 1984) is a Japanese singer, better known as the main vocalist of J-pop duo Ikimonogakari. Born in the city of Shizuoka, she moved to Atsugi in the Kanagawa Prefecture at the age of 5. In 1999, Hotaka Yamashita and Yoshiki Mizuno, two of her brother's classmates, invited her to sing in their musical project Ikimonogakari which, at the time, consisted mainly of cover versions. Between 2009 and 2014, the group managed to land five consecutive albums at the top of the Oricon charts, and their music was featured in everything from commercials to anime series and TV dramas. Starting in 2017, the band went on hiatus so each member could focus on their individual efforts. Preceded by the singles "If You Meet In a Dream" and "Thread," her studio debut Utairo appeared in 2018 and quickly climbed to Number 3 on the Japanese Albums Chart. The album also featured the track "World In Union," which was chosen as the official song for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. In 2021, she released the single "Massara," co-written with singer-songwriter Motohiro Hata. Only a year later, her track "Dekoboko" was used as the opening theme song for the anime series A Couple of Cuckoos.
